Featured wines by Bacchus Wine Cellar at the Taste of Georgetown:

BrokenWood Cricket Pitch Red Australia 2002
A beautifully made red from Australia. This predominately Bordeaux blend spices things up a bit with a splash of syrah that adds a well balanced depth and delicious peppery character that is very pleasing to the palate. Soft round black current mixes boldly with plum and spice, a fantastic, full bodied red wine that is sure to impress. Bring this wine to the table and expertly pair it with roasts, lamb or steak dishes. A great find!!!

Brokenwood Cricket Pitch White Australia White. 2004
Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon from Australia blend to make a full bodied and delicious wine in the Bordeaux style. Grapefruit, lemon zest interplay wonderfully with a slight hint of kiwi fruit. A round, full bodied white from South Eastern Australia that would pair perfectly with lemon chicken or spicy fowl dishes.

Septima. Mendoza, Argentena Cabernet Sauvignon. 2004
In the foothills of the Argentinean Andes, the Septima vineyards are cultivated on dry, flatter land. This vintage is a fine example of a rich, lush and earthy South American cabernet. Ripe, chewy blackcurrant flavors dominate with well balanced tannins and long threads of dark chocolate. Ideal with all red meat dishes.

Septima. Mendoza, Argentena Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon. 2002
With 60% malbec and 40% cabernet, and four months in oak barrels, this wine is gloriously complex. Rich, ripe dark fruit aromas have a mildly herbal character. On the palate bright and juicy plum and blackberry flavors are laced with streams of tobacco, leather and green pepper. Hearty tannins support a long, soft cherry finish which begs for a succulent slab of char-grilled Argentine beef.
