Twenty years ago, the Taste of Georgetown began as a bake sale on the lawn of Grace Church for one goal: to help fund the programs of the Georgetown Ministry Center (GMC). In 2007, the Taste has elevated to include more than 30 premier Georgetown restaurants, and last year, over 5,000 people tasted the cuisine of Georgetown, and helped raise more than $25,000. We at the Georgetown BID, GMC, Grace Church, and the rest of the Georgetown Community, hope that you will join us in our support of GMC with all of the flavors of Georgetown.

About the Georgetown Ministry Center

Founded in 1987, GMC's primary objective is to assist clients off the street and into safe, secure housing. GMC provides many outreach services including psychiatric assistance. Located near the Potomac River in Georgetown, GMC maintains a full-time staff of two and has several part-time employees, along with numerous volunteers. GMC's facilities include showers, laundry and mail services. GMC staff and volunteers regularly visit indviduals without homes to assess their needs, especially during the evenings and winters.
